Directed by Professor Sunil Ariyaratne, ‘Gautama Buddha Matha’ is a cinematic portrayal inspired by the life of Mahapajapati Gotami, the revered queen and one of the earliest followers of the Buddha.

Produced by Thilanga Sumathipala for Sumathi Universal (Pvt) Ltd, the film features a powerful musical score composed by Dr. Rohana Weerasinghe, with Channa Deshapriya handling the cinematography.

The film also features performances by renowned Indian actors, adding an international dimension to this significant Sri Lankan production.
